Results are published for information only. Always confirm a result with the National Lottery Authority or your licensed lotto agent before you claim. 18+.

The feed shows the most recent draw first. If a draw has not happened yet today, you will see the last completed one with its date, so always look at the date before you compare a ticket. The official result is the one announced at the live draw and published by the NLA; Tamale Online copies those numbers, and if anything ever differs, the NLA announcement wins. For older draws use the NLA past results archive.

Weekly Ghana lotto draw schedule

Each evening game has a fixed day. Since 1 December 2025 the live draws air on GTV, and the Monday to Saturday draw moved from 7:15 pm to around 8:00 pm, after the GTV news. Sunday stays earlier, at about 6:00 pm. Ghana runs on GMT all year, so these are GMT times. Schedules do change, so treat the times as a guide and check NLA announcements before a draw.

On top of the evening games, the NLA runs a morning 5/90 draw known as VAG Lotto, Monday to Saturday, and a midday draw called NoonRush that started in August 2023. The last published times were 10:00 am for VAG and 1:00 pm for NoonRush, but we could not confirm that they are unchanged in late 2026. Every game page in the menu carries its own results feed.

How the 5/90 game works

All the daily NLA games use the same core format, called 5/90. At each draw, five winning numbers are picked from the range 1 to 90. You do not need all five to win: unlike a classic jackpot lottery, 5/90 is a fixed-odds game. You choose how many numbers you play and what kind of bet you place, and if your numbers come out in the way your ticket requires, the win is your stake multiplied by the odds the NLA sets for that bet type. The multipliers are fixed by the NLA and can be revised, so read them on the ticket or the seller's screen before you pay.

After the five winning numbers, a second set of five is drawn from the machine. These are the machine numbers. Players and forecasters have studied them for decades, and in 2016 the NLA even launched a game based on them, but they do not affect a normal ticket and they say nothing about the next draw.

Ticket types explained: direct, perm and banker

Most confusion about "did I win?" comes from the bet type. These are the common names you will hear from agents and see in apps.

Direct

A Direct bet names a set of numbers that must all appear among the five winning numbers. Direct-1 is one number, Direct-2 is two numbers, and so on up to Direct-5. The order does not matter. If even one of your chosen numbers is missing from the five, the ticket loses. The more numbers you name, the harder it is and the higher the fixed multiplier.

Perm

A Perm (permutation) lets you list more numbers than the bet needs and covers every combination of them. For example, a Perm-2 with four numbers is really six separate two-number lines, because four numbers can be paired in six ways. You pay the stake for each line, so the cost grows fast. If two of your four numbers come out, one line wins; if three come out, three lines win. Perms spread the chance, they do not improve the odds per cedi.

Perm typeNumbers chosenLines on the ticket
Perm-233
Perm-246
Perm-2510
Perm-3510
Perm-3620

Banker

A Banker bet is built around one number you feel strongly about. In its simple form, it wins if that single number is among the five drawn. Some sellers also offer a banker combined with other numbers, where the banker must come out together with one of your partner numbers. "Banker" is a ticket type, nothing more: anyone selling you a "sure banker" number is running a scam, because nobody can know a number before the draw.

The real odds behind each bet

Because five numbers are drawn from 90, the maths is simple and the same for every game on every day:

  • One chosen number appears among the five: 5 in 90, or 1 in 18.
  • Two chosen numbers both appear: about 1 in 400.
  • Three chosen numbers all appear: about 1 in 11,748.
  • All five winning numbers: about 1 in 44 million.

Every draw is independent. A number that came out yesterday has exactly the same chance tonight as one that has not appeared for months. Our lotto predictions and statistics page shows frequency data honestly, without pretending it can call the next five.

How to check a ticket and claim a win

  1. Note the game name and draw date printed on your ticket or in your purchase SMS or app history.
  2. Open the page for that game here, or the NLA's own channels, and find the draw with the same date.
  3. Compare only the five winning numbers with your ticket, unless you bought a machine-number product.
  4. Apply your bet type: Direct needs all your chosen numbers among the five; for a Perm, count how many of your lines are fully covered.
  5. For a small win, go back to the agent or channel you bought from. Small wins are often paid quickly by the agent, or credited to the wallet you used for a mobile purchase.
  6. Larger wins go through NLA validation and are paid at Prize Payment Centres at the NLA head office and regional offices. Take the original ticket and your Ghana Card, and expect the ticket to be checked before payment.

Keep the paper ticket flat and dry, or a screenshot of the digital receipt, until the money is in your hands or your MoMo wallet. We found no published claim deadline, so do not wait: claim as soon as you can. A withholding tax on lottery and betting winnings introduced in 2023 was scrapped in April 2025; tax rules can change, so check the payout slip and any Ghana Revenue Authority notice. Our guide to betting tax in Ghana follows those changes.

Official sources and who sells NLA games

The National Lottery Authority runs the national lottery under the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722). Private Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) and lotto operators may sell NLA games, but only under an NLA licence, and the type of licence matters: a licence for POS terminals is not the same as one for USSD or web sales. NLA games are also retailed digitally by licensed partners, and the Authority has been moving to fully electronic ticket sales, with paper tickets being phased out during 2026.

For results, trust in this order: the live GTV draw, then the NLA's official channels, then the licensed seller you bought from. Many websites and Facebook pages copy results by hand and typos happen. Our private-operator page on 5/90 lotto results and licensed sellers explains how to tell an NLA-licensed game from a copy.

Lotto scams to avoid in Ghana

  • Paid "winning numbers". Fraudsters ask for MoMo payment in exchange for numbers they claim will play tonight. The NLA has said many times that results cannot be known before a draw.
  • Fake winning coupons. Scammers post photos of "winning" tickets to prove their skill, then demand a share of your future win, often 20 to 40 percent.
  • Fake NLA officials. Profiles on Facebook and WhatsApp pose as NLA staff with "inside" numbers or registration forms. The NLA has no registration form for winning numbers, and it has worked with police to arrest such fraudsters.

Lotto is for adults only: you must be 18+ to buy a ticket. Set a weekly amount you can afford to lose, never chase losses, and read our responsible gambling page if lotto stops being fun.

Frequently asked questions

What time are NLA results released today?

The Monday to Saturday evening draw is currently held at around 8:00 pm GMT on GTV, and the Sunday Aseda draw at around 6:00 pm. Results appear in our feed shortly after the official draw. Times can change, so check NLA announcements.

Which NLA lotto game is played today?

Each day has its own game: Monday Special, Lucky Tuesday, Mid-Week on Wednesday, Fortune Thursday, Friday Bonanza, National Weekly on Saturday and Sunday Aseda. The morning VAG draw runs Monday to Saturday.

How many numbers do I need to win Ghana lotto?

It depends on your ticket. A Direct-1 or simple Banker bet needs one number among the five drawn, a Direct-2 needs two, and so on. Your win is the stake times the fixed odds for that bet type.

Are machine numbers part of the winning numbers?

No. Machine numbers are a second set of five drawn after the winning numbers. They do not count for a normal 5/90 ticket and do not predict future draws.

Where do I claim a big lotto win in Ghana?

Large wins go through NLA validation and are paid at Prize Payment Centres at the NLA head office and regional offices. Bring the original ticket and your Ghana Card. Small wins are usually paid by the agent or channel you bought from.
