Every bookmaker score on Tamale Online comes from six weighted criteria, and a valid Gaming Commission of Ghana licence carries the most weight. We build those scores from public sources: operator terms, help pages, app store listings and the Commission's own list of licensed operators. Our football tips and NLA lotto statistics follow separate written methods, described further down, so you can judge how much to rely on each.
Desk research, not hands-on testing
We do not open betting accounts, send MoMo deposits, request withdrawals or call customer care to score a brand. When a review says a withdrawal goes to your MTN MoMo or Telecel Cash wallet, that statement comes from the operator's published payment page, and we say so in the text. Figures that change often, such as minimum deposits, welcome offers, promo codes and USSD shortcuts, are stored once in an operator record and shown from there, so a correction reaches every page at the same time.
Bookmaker scoring weights
| Criterion | Weight | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Ghana licence and company details | 30% | Entry on the Gaming Commission's current licensed operators list, licence numbers and company name in the site's terms, any public enforcement action |
| Mobile Money and cashier terms | 20% | MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money support, stated minimums and limits in GHS, withdrawal rules, how tax on winnings is described |
| Markets and betting features | 20% | Depth on the English Premier League, Ghana Premier League and Black Stars fixtures, live betting, cash out, booking codes, virtuals |
| App and low-data access | 10% | Official Google Play or App Store listing, lite site, data-friendly options |
| Promotion rules | 10% | Minimum odds, rollover and expiry as written in the terms, not the headline amount |
| Support and player protection | 10% | Published contact channels, deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, readable terms |
A brand we cannot match to the Commission's list cannot score well, however good its odds look. If research shows a bookmaker has closed, does not accept Ghanaian players or cannot be found at all, we keep a short page explaining what we found, mark it so search engines skip it, drop it from every ranking and advise readers not to deposit. Current scores sit on the best betting sites in Ghana page and in each of our bookmaker reviews.
How football tips are put together
Picks on the predictions hub go through the same checklist for each fixture, whether it is an EPL weekend or a Kotoko against Hearts derby:
- Recent home and away form, goals for and against.
- Published team news on injuries, suspensions and squad rotation.
- Head-to-head record only where the sample is meaningful.
- Prices from several bookmakers turned into implied probability, to see if a pick offers any value.
- A short written reason, so you can argue with the logic instead of trusting a label.
Kick-off times are given in GMT, which is Ghana time all year. We do not sell tips, do not publish a win rate and treat every selection as an opinion that can lose.
How lotto statistics are compiled
Lotto pages show results and frequency tables built only from draws published through NLA channels. If a result cannot be confirmed, it is not shown. Hot and cold number tables simply count how often each number from 1 to 90 has appeared over a stated period. Each 5/90 draw is random, so no table can say which numbers come next, and we never offer "banker" numbers. The reasoning is set out on our lotto predictions page.
Corrections and independence
Pages show the date of their last review, and a change in the law or a Commission notice triggers a recheck of every affected page. Commissions from bookmaker links never change a weight or a score, as explained in our affiliate disclosure. Spotted an outdated figure? Tell us through the contact page. Betting and lotto are for adults 18+ only.
Frequently asked questions
Do you place real bets to test bookmakers?
No. Scores rest on published terms, help pages, store listings and the Gaming Commission licence list. Reviews state where each fact came from.
Why is licensing worth 30% of the score?
A licence decides whether a Ghanaian regulator can act if a bookmaker refuses to pay. Odds and offers matter far less if that protection is missing.
Can your lotto tables tell me the next winning numbers?
No. They count past appearances only. NLA draws are random, and anyone selling future numbers is running a scam.
Does a paying partner get a higher rank?
No. The weights are the same for every brand, and a bookmaker without a verifiable Ghana licence stays out of the rankings whatever the commercial terms.
