No prediction is ever sure. Tips here are opinions built on form and statistics, so treat them as research, not a promise. 18+.

This page gives today's double chance prediction picks alongside straight 1X2 tips: home win, draw or away win, and the safer two-outcome options 1X, X2 and 12. Double chance covers two of the three results in one bet, so a home team backed with 1X wins if it wins or draws. The price is shorter, which is the trade-off. Below are today's picks, the method behind them and a guide to choosing between 1X2 and double chance.

Each pick shows the market (1, X, 2, 1X, X2 or 12), kick-off in GMT and the price. Where a straight win and a double chance are both reasonable, we show the one with better value.

The 1X2 market in one minute

1 is a home win, X a draw, 2 an away win, all settled after 90 minutes plus stoppage time. It is the most bet market in Ghana and the base of most betslips. Bookmakers price it carefully, so value comes from small edges: team news the market has not absorbed, or a popular club priced shorter than its form justifies.

Double chance explained

OptionWins ifBest used when
1XHome win or drawA home side that rarely loses but draws often
X2Away win or drawA stronger away team or a solid underdog
12Either team wins, no drawTwo attacking sides who both need a result

Double chance odds come from the 1X2 prices. If home is 2.00 and draw 3.40, 1X sits near 1.26 before margin. That is why 1X on a strong favourite often pays almost nothing: you are paying to insure against a draw that was unlikely anyway.

How we choose home win predictions and double chance picks

  • Form in context: last six to ten games, home and away split, opponent strength noted.
  • xG trends: is a team winning on merit or on luck? A side winning narrowly while being outplayed is a candidate to oppose, often via X2.
  • Team news: suspensions and injuries in key positions, rotation before cup or European fixtures.
  • Draw tendency: some teams draw far more than others. When a home side draws a lot, 1X can be better than a straight 1.
  • Value: our estimated probability must be above the price's implied probability.

When double chance is worth it, and when it is not

Double chance is a good tool for underdogs. X2 on a decent away side at around 1.70 can be strong value if the favourite is overrated. It is a poor tool for heavy favourites, where 1X at 1.08 risks GHS 50 to win GHS 4 and one upset wipes out many wins. We also avoid adding several double chance legs to an accumulator just to "make it safe": five legs at 1.25 still fail more than two times in three if each leg has a realistic 80% chance.

Draw no bet as an alternative

Draw no bet refunds your stake if the match is drawn. It sits between 1X2 and double chance in price. For a favourite you trust to avoid defeat but not certain to win, draw no bet often gives a better return than 1X. Not every bookmaker shows it in the main view; look under more markets.

Staking short prices in GHS

Short prices tempt bigger stakes. Keep the same flat unit, for example GHS 10 from a GHS 500 monthly budget, rather than staking GHS 100 on a 1.20 because it "cannot lose". It can, and it does, several times a season even for the best teams.

Placing your bet at a Ghanaian bookmaker

  1. Deposit with MoMo (MTN, Telecel Cash or AT Money).
  2. For 1X2, tap the price on the match row. For double chance, open the match and find "Double Chance".
  3. Confirm the option (1X, X2 or 12) on the slip before staking.
  4. Place as a single or load the booking code if one is listed.

Common mistakes with 1X2 and double chance

  • Stacking 1X on ten favourites and calling it a safe slip.
  • Ignoring the draw rate of the teams involved.
  • Backing the famous club regardless of form.
  • Assuming home advantage is the same everywhere; in some leagues it is much weaker than it used to be.

Double chance in Ghana Premier League and cup games

Home advantage in the Ghana Premier League has traditionally been strong, with long journeys, local pitches and passionate crowds weighing on visiting sides. That makes 1X a natural option for many local games, but bookmakers set prices with that history in mind. In cup ties between top-flight and lower-division sides, X2 or 1X on the stronger club can look tempting at around 1.20; check whether the bigger club is likely to rotate before you take such a short price.

Frequently asked questions

What does 1X mean in betting?

1X is a double chance bet on the home team to win or draw. It loses only if the away team wins.

Is double chance a good bet?

It can be when it covers a real risk at a fair price, especially with underdogs. On heavy favourites the price is usually too short to be worth it.

What is the difference between 12 and draw no bet?

A 12 bet wins if either team wins and loses on a draw. Draw no bet backs one team and refunds the stake on a draw.

Are 1X2 bets settled after extra time?

No. 1X2 and double chance settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
