Want to follow the steps on the operator site?

Go to SportyBet

A SportyBet withdrawal in Ghana is requested from Me, then Withdraw, and paid to the MoMo wallet registered on your account; deposits go the other way through the cashier or the Paybill USSD route. According to the operator's help page, both are free of charge, small withdrawals are processed instantly, and larger ones may show as Pending for a manual review of up to three working days. Payments are for adult account holders, 18+.

Tamale Online is an independent review site, not SportyBet. The steps below follow SportyBet's published help pages as checked in October 2026; we did not run test transactions.

Payment methods on SportyBet Ghana

The help page lists MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash and AT Money (shown as AirtelTigo on some pages), plus Visa and Mastercard cards for deposits. Accepted methods: MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Visa/Mastercard cards. The minimum deposit is GHS 1, and the help page also lists a per-transaction maximum. We did not find a separate MoMo merchant ID published for Ghana; if one is confirmed it shows here: .

Six safe steps of a Mobile Money deposit to a betting wallet
Approve deposits only on your own phone and never share your MoMo PIN.

How to deposit on SportyBet with MoMo

  1. Log in and tap Deposit (or Top Up) in the app or on the site.
  2. Choose your network: MTN, Telecel or AT.
  3. Enter the amount in GHS. Your account number is used as the paying wallet.
  4. Approve the prompt that appears on your phone with your MoMo PIN.
  5. Wait for the confirmation SMS and check your SportyBet balance.

If the MTN prompt does not show up, the help page tells you to dial *170#, choose My Wallet, then My Approvals, and approve the pending payment there.

The Paybill USSD route

For a basic phone or a weak data connection, SportyBet publishes a Paybill USSD code for all networks: *711*222#. Dial it, type the amount and follow the prompts. Take the code only from the official help page or our facts box, never from a stranger.

The same-number rule

This is the rule that causes most "missing deposit" complaints. Deposits must come from the mobile number on your SportyBet account. A deposit from a different number does not reach your balance; it opens a new account tied to that number. After identity verification with a Ghana Card or Voter ID you can add a secondary deposit number. So if you want to fund your account from your spouse's or your shop's wallet, do the verification first.

How to withdraw money from SportyBet

  1. Log in and open Me (your profile).
  2. Tap Withdraw.
  3. Enter the amount. The minimum and the per-transaction maximum are shown on screen.
  4. Confirm the MoMo number. Winnings go to the wallet on the account.
  5. Submit and keep the withdrawal reference.

Can you withdraw to another number? Only to a number linked to your verified account. Searches like "how to withdraw money from sportybet to another number" usually end at the same answer: verify your identity, add the second number, then withdraw. A bank withdrawal option also exists, with its own higher per-transaction limit; withdrawals to Nigerian wallets such as OPay do not apply to the Ghana site.

Pending, failed and slow withdrawals

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
SuccessfulMoney sent to your walletCheck your MoMo SMS and balance
PendingHeld for manual reviewWait up to three working days, keep the reference
FailedRejected by the network or the systemFunds return to your SportyBet balance; check wallet limits and try again

MoMo wallets have their own daily limits by tier, so a large withdrawal can fail on the network side even when SportyBet approves it. If money is still missing after the review window, contact support through the channels on our SportyBet customer care page.

Cash out and partial cash out

Cash out is different from a withdrawal. It settles a running bet early and moves the value into your SportyBet balance, from which you then withdraw. SportyBet offers full cash out and partial cash out (settle part, let the rest ride) on eligible bets; if you look for an automatic cash out setting, check the bet slip options in the current app version. Remember that cash out values include the bookmaker's margin. On your first deposit: you can withdraw money you deposited, but read the current terms in the cashier, because operators may require deposits to be staked before withdrawal to prevent money laundering.

Fees and tax

SportyBet says it charges nothing for deposits and withdrawals, and the E-Levy on MoMo transfers was repealed in April 2025. The withholding tax on winnings was also scrapped in 2025, but rules can change; our betting tax guide tracks it. For other bookmakers that pay out fast to mobile wallets, see our MoMo betting sites list. 18+ only.
