[Video]: NPP threatened by my contest in Tamale Central – Murtala Mohammed

Former Deputy Trades Minister under the erstwhile Mahama NDC administration, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed has opined the ruling party in the Northern Region, especially in the Tamale Central Constituency are scared of his contest.

Comrade Murtal Mohammed is among three aspiring candidates who have filed for the NDC’s August 24 parliamentary primaries in all 275 constituencies across the country, and is optimistic the delegates will elect him to lead the party in the 2020 elections.

The former Nanton legislator also believes he possesses enough experience over his contenders including any potential NPP candidate to retain the Tamale Central seat for the NDC in parliament.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with TamaleOnline News, Comrade Murtala Mohammed averred the NPP in the Northern Region is extremely threatened by his contest in the Tamale Central constituency.

According to him, the governing party in the Northern Region is deceived into thinking they are making gains out of the divisions that ensued within the base of the party in the run up to the 2016 parliamentary elections.

Comrade Murtala intimated he is going into the contest as a unified candidate and will bring everybody onboard to ensure the NDC votes appreciates in the forthcoming general elections if given the chance.
