Tamale Teaching Hospital procures additional scan machine after intense public outcry – CEO

The management of Tamale Teaching Hospital has moved to install an additional CT Scan to boost healthcare delivery in the Northern sector.

CEO of the Hospital, Dr. Mumin Karim made this known during a crucial meeting with the Concerned Youth of Tamale, a pressure group which recently petitioned the hospital to fix its faulty CT machine.

According to the Group, head of the facility disclosed that the hospital together with the Ministry of Health have finished the procurement of a second CT machine, which will be mounted at the hospital soon to improve health-care delivery.

“Dr. Karim lamented about the CT scan being broken down for months and said he was as much disturbed as any of us could be.

“He also assured us that a new CT scan has been acquired and will soon be brought in and installed in the facility by the suppliers so as to compliment the the one the facility already has” The Concerned Youth of Tamale said in a statement.

The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and the Tamale Teaching Hospital have both received petitions from the group.

The conveners of the group had key discussions with authorities to deliberate Tamale’s and the Northern Region’s development.
