Shots fired, as NDC supporters rampage at party office in Tamale

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region is in turmoil following the suspension of some executives including Regional Communications Officer General Amin.

Angry supporters of the NDC, between the hours of 10 and 11am Friday morning wielding gun(s) stormed the regional office firing shots and destroyed several properties.

Sources told TamaleOnline News their action was triggered by the decision of the Regional Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila to suspend some executives over misconduct.

The suspended executives including were accused of distributing sugar and other assorted items in Ramadan on behalf of the party on the blind side of its leadership.

Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mohammed Abdul Salaam who was in his office when the incident happened is said to have escaped unhurt.

The matter has since been reported to the Northern Regional Police Command for the appropriate action.
