An Accra Circuit Court has remanded Charles Nii Amarh Mensah fondly known as Shatta Wale into police custody for one week.
The court presided over by Emmanuel Marvin Essandoh said the action is in the interest of the public which he considered paramount.
The Melisa hit maker appeared in court today [Thurday, October 21, 2021) and pleaded not guilty to one charge count to wit; Publication of false news that caused fear and panic in the public domain.
Three others who appeared in court with him Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Shatta’s personal assistance, Eric Vanetor, a graphic designer and Iddrisu Yussif, a beautician were charged for abetment of criminal of publication of false news.
All the accused persons pleaded not guilty and have been remanded into custody.
