The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has reinstated Mrs Gertrude Quashigah as National Coordinator for the School Feeding Programme 48 hours after her dismissal.
This comes after the Minister for Gender Sarah Adwoa-Safo in a letter dated 18th May 2020 directed Mrs Quashigah to leave office immediately and handover official documents in her possession to the Chief Director of the Ministry.
The letter which did not give reasons for her dismissal said “You will be paid one month’s salary in lieu of notice as stipulated in your contract agreement.”
It added “We appreciate your support towards the execution of the mandate of the Ghana School Feeding Programme during the period.”
However, the Minister who doubles as the MP for Dome-Kwabenya in another letter dated 20th May, 2021 and addressed to Mrs Gertrude Quashigah indicating her earlier letter for her sacking has been withdrawn.
According to her, the earlier letter was a mistake.
“This is to inform you of my decision to withdraw my earlier letter dated 18th May. 2021.
“I wish to state that my earlier letter was as a result of an administrative error.”
