Nigerian Governor Goes Into Isolation as Daughter Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has confirmed that his daughter recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus. 

Okowa made the announcement via his official Instagram handle on June 26, 2020, while revealing that he and his family will be going into the recommended 14-day isolation.

“Earlier today, Edith and I received the news that one of our daughters has tested positive for #COVID19. Hence, in-line with the laid out procedures, we are both going into isolation for the next 14-days. We will continue to keep you all updated”,

Okowa wrote.

The latest development joins Nigeria’s increasing list of high profile coronavirus cases.

Recall former Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi recently passed on at 70 after contracting the virus.

Currently, Nigeria has 22,614 confirmed coronavirus cases.
