Haruna Iddrisu fetes dozens of orphans at “Special Iftar” ceremony

Minority Leader, Hon Haruna Iddrisu over the weekend invited some one hundred orphans to his Tamale residents to break their fast (Iftar) christened “Time With The Orphans”.

The initiative (Special Iftar), purely a religious act is a way of thanking the Almighty Allah (God) for his accomplishment over the years.

It is also in consonance with Islamic principles of giving back to society and show of affection for the underprivileged in the holy month of Ramadan.

The orphans, who converged at Mr Haruna’s Vittin residence at about 5:30pm Sunday evening had enough to eat and drink, also had the opportunity to share pleasantries with the renowned legislator.

Hon. Haruna Iddrisu in his address offered renewed hope to his guests (orphans) and assured them of a brighter future citing himself as an example who was once in their position haven lost his father in an accident at a tender age of four (4).

He said opined that young orphans deserves outmost support and benevolence of people outside their family to become what he appears today.

“The rationale is that an orphan not withstanding, is to assure and give hope to these kids that there is a future and they have a future, but they deserve our support to succeed,” Haruna Iddrisu stated.

He added “The suppport i received as an orphan was with certitude and panache by persons outside my family and home.”
