GFA to begin construction of new Astro Turf facility in Bolga

President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr E.S Okraku has inspected site for the construction of a new Astro Turf facility in the Upper East regional capital Bolga.

According to the FA, the 6.5 acre land at Wintogo was donated and registered in the name of federation by the Headmaster of Bolga Senior High School, Mr Ababu Afelibik.

The project which is part of the the FIFA Forward 1.0 program will see the construction of two Astro Turfs with the other in Prampram.

This forms part of efforts by the Kurt Administration to nurture the interest of the youth in the country in football, Kurt Okraku visited the site in Bolga.

The visit to one of the regions that unearth football talents- is to also brief the Executive Council Members of the Regional Football Association(RFA), the happenings and activities of the Ghana FA and highlights on construction of Soccer Center of Excellence in the Region.

The GFA President was accompanied by GFA Executive Council member, Mr. Oduro Sarfo and the Northern Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo.

The team will move to Yendi tomorrow to pay a courtesy call on Yaa-Naa the Overlord of Dagbon.
