Covid-19: Government will pay 3 months utility bills for Ghanains – Akufo-Addo

Government has absorbed three months water bill for all Ghananians to ease their burden as the world battle the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.

President Akuffo-Addo has also directed the utility suppliers the ensure a stable supply for the months of April, May and June.

A partial two weeks lockdown has been imposed to prevent the spread of the virus. There are currently 205 confirmed recorded cases, 31 recovery and 5 deaths.

According to President Akuffo-Addo in his Nation Address to give an update on the Covid-19, there will be no disconnection during the period.

Again, the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have been directed to ensure the stable supply of water and electricity during this period,

President Akuffo-Addo stated.

He added “In addition, there will be no disconnection of supply. Furthermore, Government will absorb the water bill of all Ghanains for the next three months or; April, May and June.”

However, water tankers both public and private owner will also supply water to vulnerable homes in the country for free.
