Covid-19: Four persons arrested in Tamale for holding public gathering

The Tamale Metropolitan Security Council has arrested four persons for floating President Akuffo-Addo’s directive of suspending public gathering amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The culprits were arrested at Changli, a suburb in the Tamale Metropolis for holding a funeral ceremony.

The Tamale Metropolan Assembly in a press release revealed, another person (a shop owner) was arrested at Lamashegu in the Tamale South constituency.

“Another person (shop owner) at the Lamashegu market was also arrested for flouting the Assembly’s public announcement in respect of fumigation of the markets within the Metropolis, which required shop owners to desist from entering and opening their shops on the designated dates,”

the statement noted.

According to the Assembly, the culprits will be made dealt with within the ambit of the law.

However, the Assembly has advised members of the public to adhere to the President’s directive and desist from acts that will get them arrested.
