Covid-19: Akufo-Addo extend tax exemption for health workers

Health workers in the country are to pay no income tax on their salaries for the another three (3) months. President Akufo-Addo has announced.

The President in a televised address tonight Sunday) said health workers in the fight against Covid-1 9 will enjoy the incentive package for the July, August and September.

“I am happy to announce that I have decided to extend the incentive package for health workers by another three(3) months.

“This means that all the health workers will pay no income taxes for the next three months, i.e July, August and September.” Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” he stated.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the health workers will be paid additional allowance for the months of July, August and September.

“Again, all frontline health workers, as defined by the Ministry of Health, will continue to receive the additional allowance of fifty percent (50%) of their basic salary per month, i.e. for July, August and September,” President Akufo-Addo added.

On Sunday, 5th April, 2020, President Akufo-Addo announced an incentive package for April, May and June to motivate frontline works for the fight against Civid-19.

The move is intended to appreciate the immense dedication and hard work exhibited by health workers who continue to care for those affected by the virus.
