Football fans and pundits across the world are outraged by the conduct of Zambian center referee Janny Sukazwe who officiated Group F opener on Tuesday between Tunisia and Mali in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cemeroon.
Some took to social media to register their disgust at the conduct of Sukazwe for poor officiating which they perceive impedes the growth of African football.
Correspondence from the match indicates that the Zambian referee ended the Tunisia Mali game 5 minutes before full-time.
Sukazwe after a rethink resumed the game and then blew the final whistle at 89th minute of play with approximately 43 seconds left in which Mali were up 1 – 0 lead.
His mistake caused chaos as Tunisia Coach angrily grabbing the arm of the referee and pointing to his watch.
Janny Sukazwe and two of his colleagues were surrounded and escorted out of the field for o prevent any harm from the angry Tunisia Head Coach and his technical/backroom staff.
