A.B.A Fusieni, Fellicia Tetteh at ‘war’ over Covid-19 donations in Sagnarigu

With barely 8 months to the 2020 elections, the battle for the Sagnarigu seat between incumbent MP Alhaji A.B.A Fusieni and the NPP parliamentary candidate Felicia Tetteh is already getting heated.

It all started when the outspoken NDC legislator accused Hajia Mariam Iddrisu, the MCE of Sagnarigu of allegedly doling out some Covid-19 items to NPP parliamentary candidates in Tamale North and Sagnarigu for donations to constituents.

Madam Felicia Tetteh, while Mr. A.B.A Fuseini was busy with parliamentary duties in Accra distributed Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, antibacterial soaps amongst other to several communities in the Sagnarigu constituency to residents in order to protect themselves amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Tamale Monday, 6th April, Alhaji Fusieni intimated the actions of the MCE was deliberate to make him and MP for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini unpopular.

According to the former Deputy Northern Regional Minister, the items were suppled to all MMDAs by the Ministry of Local Government for onward distribution to fight Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

And the worst of it is that they (assembly) gave the items to NPP candidates to ground the two constituencies within the municipality to share. So in my constituency [Sagnarigu] they gave to Felecia and Dahamani in Tamale North and they both pasted their posters on it for onward distribution,

A.B.A Fuseini alleged.

He also argued they (him and Alhassan Suhuyini) were direct beneficiaries of the items the assembly was suppose to distribute to the people because, they are both members of the assembly and any property delivered to the assembly for distribution must be extended to them.

However, Madam Felicia Tetteh refuted the allegations by Alhaji A.B.A Fusieni’s indicating that she bought those items with her own in Tamale with her own money.

According to her, the NDC MP was engaged in propaganda because she had no idea the Local Government Ministry has supplied such items to the MMDAs.

I even staered donations before the assembly received those items from the Local Government Minister,

Felicia Tetteh stressed.

She further stated receipts for purchasing items she donated are in her possession to back her claims emphasising her opponent peddelled falsehood.
